Hi, my Mum had spinal cord surgery 1 week ago. Until any further test results come back, her surgeon said she had warfarin induced bleeding in her spinal cord. She had been on warfarin for 3 days prior as treatment for a blood clot in her lungs. Prior to the surgery, she had lost all sensation and movement below her waist. The surgeon HASN'T given us a high chance of her being able to walk again, as she had the surgery after the 24hrs of paralysis. She had backache Thursday morning, gradually got worse, numbness 5pm Thursday evening, surgery was performed 8pm Friday night. She has had minimal sensation in her right leg and foot within 48hrs after surgery, and a small amount in her left leg on the third day. No movement as yet and is still experiencing nausea. This is all new for me and if anyone could give me some information of what to expect, what's normal etc, it would be very much appreciated.
