Hello

Does anyone no off a way to some how adapt the cluch on a manual car so us wheelchair user can have the option to drive a manual car again.

Any fee back would be great

Hi Bob, yes there are a few ways to do the manual bit. You could have an air over hydraulic set up that when you changed gears you would activate the button to disengage the clutch. Some of the more expensive cars use the sequenchial gearbox that only uses the clutch for take off's. So yes it could be done but you would need to activate the clutch by some means on the gear lever. Who you would see to get it operational I am not sure. ive been experimenting with electric over air systems on trucks but currently on hold due to lack of time. i plan to have a gear knob with clutch excel & brake just like a playstation. i still need to find someone who can make the switches

There are manual cars on the road that don't have a clutch pedal yet the clutch is actually operated. Saab and Porche have had boxes referred to as selectronic. The Saab one on the 93 Viggen V6 even adapted to your driving style and became more agressive with the clutch as you changed gears more agressively. This technology came from the Formula 1 cars and the clutch can operate faster than a race car driver.
