I know a little about spinal cord research but I don't keep myself up to date. People keep telling me that there is a lot of work being done in different areas and a cure is looking good.

Can anyone out there tell me about research that looks really promising?

I remember that about 4 years ago there was human trials being done in Queensland. I think that they operated (using nasal cells) on a few people. They were saying back then that they would release any results in 3 years time. Well, it's been 3 years but I haven't heard anything at all. Maybe the trials didn't have any positive results at all?

Follow this link - seems to be the most recent news I've seen about the trials, although there are no results yet

Also the federal government is also currently reviewing legislation on Human Cloning and Research Involving Human Embryos (currently prohibited) - see link

It's too late to submit anything but may be worth following to see the outcome - there are public hearings in Melbourne on September 29th/30th which you may be interested in. Dont think there are details as to the location/times etc yet but keep an eye on the website.
