"The trainers and group leaders have a very can-do attitude which I found infectious. There was a great deal of fun and laughter. It only took a day for people to trust each other and begin to open up about issues for them." - Participant survey response.

What's Out There days

December 7Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, Kew. Topic: TBC

What’s Out There days are AQA community living expos which showcase the possibilities of life with a spinal cord injury or similar disability. A typical WOT day program draws on a panel of speakers with lived experience and includes a panel discussion, a Q&A session, a barbecue lunch, small-group discussion, and usually a wheelchair sport showcase. Nothing is off the table at these discussions.

AQA facilitates monthly meetings and excursions in regional zones across Victoria, and in Melbourne. Over 2020 and 2021, most of our sessions were conducted online. We hope to reactivate our in-person group activities from 2022.

We also hope to build more networks around common interests, following the pattern of our Women With SCI network.
