Wheelchair Skills days
Skills for Independence residential course
Skills for Independence is a multi-day residential course aimed at building your capacity to act effectively in a range of settings. Participants tailor the curriculum to their needs and goals of the moment, choosing to work on key topics such as mobility skills, negotiating holiday accommodation, goal-setting, pain management, body image, and intimacy. The topics are developed and led by people with lived experience of spinal cord injury or similar disability, and the residential setting brings the opportunity to connect and learn from each other.
24 - 27 November: Family Connections Skills For Independence course, Sargood on Collaroy, NSW.
The Family Connections SFI course invites family members or significant others into the learning process. This ensures participant’s have the support they need to keep practising and expanding on the skills they learn when they get home, and also offers family members and significant others the support and connections they might need to meet the challenges of change.
